Due to an inexplicable dislike of retro games and Amiya Aranha's streaming activities, a foul villain has captured several buckos and hid them in various levels that conveniently follow right to his lair. It's on Amiya to save the buckos and stop him.

Made in GB Studio.

Features:

  • 6 levels + Boss stage
  • 3 endings
  • Decent-ish attempts at sprite work from a beginner
  • Crunchy voice samples in the ROM version
  • A random Castlevania 2 reference
  • Amicute

Controls:

A (Alt / Z / J) - Jump

B (Ctrl / K / X) - Shoot

Start (Enter) - Pause Game

Notes:

  • Once rescued, Buckos remain rescued even if you die before finishing the level.
  • Game is saved every time you beat or lose a level.
  • Which ending you get depends on how many Buckos are rescued.
  • Due to engine limitations, enemies respawn after pausing.
  • When loading the game, level markers on the map might not be displayed correctly (in that they might show the level to be unbeaten, even if all buckos are found) until a level is played.
  • The reason there are two different versions is due to issues with BinjGB, the emulator GB Studio uses, that causes some sound files to have a buzzing sound in them, so they would sound horrible in the web version. The ROM version is the "intended" one, but the web version works perfectly fine.

not bad game I was getting hit walking too fast to the right or left but then I started walking a bit slower then shooting. the collision for the last stage and final boss wasn't working for me, wasn't taking any damage. Not sure if that should be fixed or not.

I've heard that before and by now, I have an idea what the problem could be. I might do an update soon.

Incredibly cute Ami sprite. Thoughtful design regarding platforms and not demanding repeat collection. Cut scene art came out great, and while its from dithertron with edits, thats fine. It came out wonderful and fit together well. Good job, bucko.

Such great work on this game! The ami, bucko, and boss sprites are great and they really fit well with the pre-fab assets you found. Also love the music choices and the mechanics (AMIS GOT A GUN)

Some of those buckos were really well hidden, a nice but not to complicated non-linear level design!!

Great use of the voice clips and super fun game to play!!!

Very cute game, i like the music and cute sprites! Well done!

I very much appreciate the concept of "what if we gave Ami a gun"

I played it a bit on the web, but I'm definitely going to play more using the ROM. It looks really good!

Haven't finished it yet (played the first two levels on the Web version, plan to continue playing it on a real GBC), but liked what I saw.  Really good work on the intro!

Really liked the cutscene art.

played it on a GBC emulator, very cute, i love the PCM ami audio. i really like how this game controls, it's very satisfying to play. nice work!

This really feels like a classic platformer, great job!

Amazing art for the gbstudio limitations! great job!
